Sofia the First- Disney Parks Debut {Christmas Day}

Christmas is definitely my favorite time of year for many reasons and my family has many traditions one of which is definitely the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. Honestly I probably wouldn’t want to be at the Disney Parks on Christmas Day I’m just no a crowds kind of person especially dragging kids along, although I’m sure it would be a magical day but I definitely enjoy watching the parade from the comfort of my home on television.

I’m excited to announce that Disney’s new Sofia the First will make her Disney Parks debut in the 29th Annual “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” airing nationwide on Christmas Day, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 25 (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., ET; check local listings) on ABC Television Network. It was also recently announced that Sofia will be joining the Disney Junior- Live on Stage! show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney California Adventure in early 2013!

We haven’t been to Disney World since 2010 and my 4 year old doesn’t remember it so I’m thinking another Disney trip might be in due in the near future.

8. The Mall Rat- You’ll see them there every weekend, and on many weeknights, pacing up and down each aisle.

10. The Heroic Mom- found on weekdays, with anywhere from one to six small children in tow- the Michael Jordan of Christmas shoppers, the elite of the elite.

In our house playing games is something we really love to do and we really love the games that are multi-player so that everyone gets a chance to participate. My girls are 8, 7 and 4 and one of their favorite games is Just Dance 3. They love all of the fun songs and I love that it’s part of the Xbox 360 Kinect which means they are getting up off their seats and onto their feet! There’s just something that as a mom makes me feel a little better about them playing video games when they are moving their bodies and getting a little bit of a workout at the same time. With that being said those songs have definitely been over exhausted in our house and I’m really excited to try out Just Dance 4! The thing I look most forward to with Just Dance 4 is the addition of 40 all-new songs so I won’t have to hear the same ones over and over, my girls will have lots of different choices! I know they’ll also love the Just Dance-Off with the all-new battle mode which means they will have the opportunity to challenge each other in 6 rounds of dance battles- my oldest two are all about competition so this feature will be a big hit! I think I’m most excited about the Just Sweat It Out feature with brand new workout sessions a real calorie counter and the ability to personalize your programs. I already think Just Dance is a great fun workout so this will just make it all the better.

The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas {GIVEAWAY}

MY THOUGHTS:

It seems like the start of the holiday season has really caused my time to get away from me because I sat down and started writing this post the day before Thanksgiving and here it is already the first week of December! So I’ll give you what I started with…

My kids and I sat down and watched this movie yesterday to start getting in the Christmas spirit! My four year old keeps telling me, “Mom sometimes it’s really hard waiting for Christmas” I know it seems like it’s forever away but it’ll be here sooner than we think, I mean tomorrow is Thanksgiving, wow I don’t know where this year went!

Okay so now that my kids have watched this DVD a few times now there are a few thoughts I’d like to add. We really enjoyed this Cat in the Hat Christmas DVD as a good one to watch together as a family, not just for the little kids. It’s definitely an animated film but that doesn’t mean it’s just for little kids. My almost 9 year old enjoyed it and I think it really had a great message. At first I was a little thrown because most Christmas videos are full of snow and for a good portion of the beginning, well there’s no snow. So I was like, “This is a Christmas movie???” However the snow shows up not too long after it starts and throughout the movie as the Cat in the Hat and his friends run into one problem after another we are constantly reminded that you can have Christmas anywhere. So there really doesn’t have to be snow to have Christmas – which is funny because typically we don’t actually have snow on Christmas in Washington but I just associate Christmas movies with snow. I like how they all work together to help each other be together with their family and friends at Christmas with a great sense of giving. This is definitely a movie I’d add to your family watch list this year!

Barbie The Princess and The Pop Star- Kidtoons

I’m a little sad to post the following as I’ve been working with Kidtoons for a little while now and have been highly impressed with their family friendly features. A huge thanks to Kidtoons for brining us great entertainment for our children and families- I know I look forward to what the future brings!

Over the last nine years, Kidtoons has been proud to bring our audience top notch, age appropriate entertainment for kids ages 2-8 and their families. During our tenure, we have run a total of 91 feature presentations at hundreds of locations nationwide; hosting the biggest stars in children’s entertainment such as Thomas & Friends, Barbie, Curious George, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, Sid the Science Kid, Spookley the Square Pumpkin, Dino Dan, Chuggington, Peppa Pig among many others.

Unfortunately, we here at Kidtoons are sorry to have to announce that Barbie The Princess and The Pop Star will be the last feature run for Kidtoons. However, we are in the initial planning stages of putting together another kids program on the big screen to take the place of Kidtoons in the coming future (end of 2013 or 2014). Although, the program is yet to be named, at that time, we plan to bring our family audience internationally-lauded, award winning, hard-to-find children’s animated features both on the big screen and into homes on DVD and download.

My daughters were absolutely thrilled to see her arrive as they love Barbie and my four year especially loves just about everything pink and sparkly! One of the exciting things about this Barbie is that she has a very princessey look to her with her sparkly long pink gown and tiara but with a pull of the drawstring (on back) reveals her rockin’ pop star outfit and with a simple twist of her hair, tada pink hair! She also comes with a microphone. Princess by day, Popstar by night! This is definitely a toy I would suggest picking up for your daughter for Christmas.

Dave Ramsey’s Junior’s Adventures- New Holiday Book GIVEAWAY

 

 

 

I’m excited to announce that Dave Ramsey has a new book out in the Junior’s Adventures series called The Best Christmas Ever – Junior Discovers Contentment.

I of course love all of Dave Ramsey’s stuff and I’m grateful they have the Junior line because I know it’s really important to start teaching my children while they are young. I know I would be in a totally different place today if I had these same principles instilled in me about money and I really wish they were teaching it in schools too but at least we have these great products as parents to help us out.

I love the new holiday book because it also comes with an audio cd so you can have it read to you- which means you can listen to this in the car or my four year old can listen to it at home when her older sisters aren’t around or mom’s too busy to sit down and read with her. My kids have already pulled out this book a couple of times on their own because they know and have come to love the other Junior’s Adventures books.

I started reading this book on my own when it first arrived and I will admit that it sounded exactly like my kids- they want EVERYTHING for Christmas, heck they want everything all the time I feel like. So I could definitely relate, but I love how it goes into talking about giving and it reminded me of a special thing we usually do around the holidays where we pick names off a giving tree- these can be found at multiple locations throughout our community (in the book Junior and his sister find one in their local mall) and buy new gifts for children who are in need and otherwise wouldn’t have such a great Christmas. It’s a great principle because it helps I think all of us, not just children realize that even though we might not have all of the things we really want we definitely are very blessed with what we do have.

It also has some fun stuff in the back – a recipe for Reindeer Cookies and How To Make Popcorn Garland.

 

This definitely another Dave Ramsey product I’m putting my stamp of approval on and recommending it to all my readers, whether you have children or not it’s a good reminder for all of us!

Disney Junior- {New Winter Episodes}

If you’re kids are anything like mine they will be thrilled that their favorite Disney Junior shows will be airing new episodes this week! · Doc teaches Chilly and the rest of the toys about the importance of staying warm when playing outside in the snow and China Anne McClain, who performs the theme song for "Doc McStuffins" and stars on Disney Channel's hit series "A.N.T Farm," guest stars.

 

My 8, 7 and 4 year old girls all LOVE Doc McStuffins and my 4 year old is a huge fan of Jake and the Never Land Pirates so we will definitely tuning in. We went to see Santa today and my 4 year old daughter informed him she wanted the Doc McStuffins Time for Your Checkup Doll – oh boy it’s a hot toy this Holiday season and I am pretty much already done with my shopping so we’ll have to see what I can do .
