Spoonful of Comfort {Review & Giveaway} CLOSED

Whenever I think of Chicken Noodle Soup I always associate it with cold winter days and being sick. However when you’re sick you usually aren’t in the mood to make homemade chicken soup.

Spoonful of Comfort offers a great service where you can send a large jar of homemade chicken noodle soup to anyone with the option to add on rolls or oatmeal raisin cookies. It can also be a great alternative to sending flowers or fruit baskets. I know if I were feeling a little under the weather I’d be amazingly grateful to find this show up at my door and kn0w someone was thinking about me! The thought of homemade chicken noodle soup just seems more personal and caring then a bouquet of flowers.

It is said that chicken soup can have actual health benefits as it inhibits inflammation of the cells in the nasal passage reducing the symptoms of a cold and contains an amino acid beneficial to respiratory infections. While there is no conclusive evidence that chicken soup is a cure-all, it is probable that it helps alleviate symptoms. Most importantly, it is a good source of nutrients and re-hydration.

The company sent me a huge jar of chicken soup to review. The chicken soup was packaged extremely well. Just make sure to put it into your fridge after it arrives- and it will keep for 2 to 3 days- which is a good thing because the jar is huge! There’s definitely enough there to feed at least 4-6 adults. I of course had to open it right up and try it and it was the best chicken soup I’ve ever had! The aroma was amazing and I loved the homemade noodles.

In addition I also received a package of their home made dinner rolls and oatmeal raisin cookies. The rolls went perfect with the soup and were the fluffiest rolls I’ve ever had. (I’ll admit I think the rolls were my favorite part I just wanted to keep eating them!) The cookies were the moistest cookies I’ve ever tasted!

I think Spoonful of Comfort is a great idea and would be such a wonderful gift to send someone who is not feeling well, someone who has experienced a loss or for a college student who is missing home cooked meals.
