Charles Dickens- A Christmas Carol- Pop up Book {Review}

9780316039734_388X586 I’ve always loved the story Charles Dickens- A Christmas Carol and always end up watching at least one version of the movie during the holiday season. My favorites are the Muppet version, Disney version and of course Scrooged staring Bill Murray. So I was excited when I saw this pop up book of the classic story.

The art is beautifully done but the book is definitely a little too advanced for the age of my children. It might be a good book to read on Christmas Eve to the kids surrounding the fire but honestly I don’t know how long they’d last because it’s just a little too lengthy for them (my kids are 6, 5 and 2). I also thought that while the pop up art was beautifully done that it was a bit flimsy. I felt like when I opened it up that pieces got stuck and that when I turned the page things were getting squished (which is normally for a pop up book) but not in a good way. It didn’t seem like a sturdy enough book to even let young children touch. I think it would be a great holiday gift for a family with older children.
