Eye Buy Direct {Review & Giveaway}

Purchasing glasses can be expensive I grew up wearing them along with most of my brother’s and and sisters. My mom was always the one with the perfect vision but as the years have come and gone I’ve had eye surgery and my mom is starting to need glasses to help her read at the computer an while driving, so when I had the opportunity to review Eye Buy Direct I decided to get her a pair of glasses- seeing as she’d paid out so much for my eyes when I was younger I figured it only fair :).

I remember going to eye doctor’s offices but as an adult was shocked to see the sticker price, I guess I never realized as a child how expensive glasses really were and that was just the frame price! Eye Buy Direct is great because they have so many different varieties of color and style at an extremely reasonable price! You can purchase women’s frames anywhere from $7.95 to $99.95 (and that higher end price are the designer pairs). There are also quite a few different lens options. The standard lenses and anti-scratch protection are included in your frame price, but the upgrade options are also very reasonably priced. For instance you can upgrade to the Thin and Light lenses (the most popular lens) for only $25 and add an anti-reflective protection to them for only $6.95, this is still less then $100 for a pair of glasses! Shipping cost is also very reasonable, for USPS First Class at only $5.95 and $23 for the UPS Express upgrade.

I did have a few complaints about Eye Buy Direct, and my biggest one is that they don’t carry kid’s glasses. We just had to purchase my daughter her first pair of glasses and even at Lens Crafters where kid’s are always 50% off we still paid $180 for a pair of glasses, I don’t even want to think about what the price would have been if we had gone to an eye doctor! The other little issue we had was the frames needing to be adjusted. When you buy a pair of glasses in store or in office you have the luxury of getting them adjusted to fit your face that you don’t get when purchasing online. My mom took her pair of glasses with her to my sister’s appointment and they adjusted them for her but I’m not sure you’d be able to do that with just any office.
