King Arthur Flour {Review & Giveaway}

I am a huge baker in my house and my children love to get into the kitchen and help but often times what I’m making is just a little too complicated for them or I’ve just got too many things going on that things can get a little confusing when you put little kids into the mix. Then I found King Arthur Flour and not only do they sell lots of baking essentials for items like, cookies, cupcakes, gingerbread, pie, bread, gluten-free products and much more but they also have a K.A.F. Kids Line with boxed mixes for kids.

We received the Rainbow Snack Cake Mix & ABC Twists Mix. The Rainbow Snack Cake mix included cake mix + glaze mix + colored sprinkles, so the only thing we had to add was eggs, butter and milk for the cake mix and butter and milk for the glaze. This made kitchen time about ten times easier with my five year old daughter because we didn’t have a million ingredients to worry about. I also love that the mixes are naturally pure and wholesome and have no artificial preservatives. My daughter really enjoyed making these cupcakes because they didn’t take very long, besides the fifteen minute baking time they were mixed and in the cupcake pan quickly. We wiped up the glaze as the cupcakes were baking and then drizzled it on about ten minutes after they had gotten a chance to cool. Then her favorite part, decorating! There were plenty of sprinkles included in the package so each of her cupcakes had a pretty good amount of overflowing sprinkles just the way kids like them! I’m always a little leery of boxed mixes because while they are certainly easy and quick and cut down quite a bit of baking prep and work I usually think that things taste better homemade. King Arthur Flour Kid’s Baking Mixes definitely squashed that stereotype for me! Not only did these cupcake smell DELICIOUS they also tasted extremely moist and yummy!

We are excited to try out the other mix they sent us, the ABC Twists- they look a little like pretzels with cinnamon and sugar on them and you can make them into any shapes you like. We were also sent a bag of King Arthur’s White Whole Wheat Flour which I’m excited to start baking with. My kids actually prefer wheat bread to white bread so I don’t think it’ll be any different using this in our baking and with the holidays coming up I’d like to try and sneak a little bit of healthiness into all those yummy baked snacks we’ll be making. Which brings me to the last but not least item that we were sent, the King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion Cookbook. This 500 page hardcover cookbook is packed full of yummy cookie and treat recipes that I’m dying to try. Every year in December I make cookies or treats at least three times a week and send them to work with my husband and they love me at his office! :) So I’m excited to have some new recipes to work with. I wish this cookbook had a few more pictures in it because the pictures they do have are to die for! It just makes me want to start baking now and make them all!
