My daughters absolutely love dolls, they have a few Barbies, but they are always really interested in the Bratz dolls whenever they see them at the store. I absolutely HATE the Bratz dolls because I think they look like young street walkers. There’s no way I want them being role models for my children or anyway I want my kids thinking that’s the cool way to dress. Then I found the Liv Dolls from Spinmaster and was excited to find something much more realistic looking then Barbie- I mean I know it’s a doll but nobody is that perfect. The Liv Dolls are refreshing to me. To see them in modern stylish clothes that are pretty modest is very nice. They are also more relatable to tween aged girls.Their motto- Real Girls. Real Life.

Liv dolls- Daniela, Sophie, Katie, Alexis and now introducing Hayden are back and fresher then ever with fabulous new style! Here are the dolls we received to review:

Hayden- (the newest Liv Doll) comes in a casual pink blouse and shorts (that I love because they are almost knee length!). Hayden’s favorite activity is spending time with the animals she loves.

Katie- comes with pink half boots, some teal leggings and a long plaid fitted blouse. Katie’s favorite activities include hitting the skate park with her bike!

Daniela- comes with fashionable black studded boots, jean shorts and purple leggings, and a sparkly purple tye dyed shirt. Her favorite activity? Yep you guessed it rocking out on her drums!

One of my girl’s favorite features of the Liv Dolls- the ability to get online and interact with their dolls. Be sure to check out www.livworld.com for fun! (They came with online access codes but these are no longer necessary to play online.) There’s an online diary for each doll that is updated daily and I even enjoyed reading it myself, I felt like I was reading a fun kid’s book and it definitely made the dolls feel more like real people. There are also quite a few fun games and a closet where the doll can be dressed different every day!

A few of my favorite features on the Liv dolls- were the interchangeable wigs. I had just as much fun as the kids sitting there taking off all of their hair and switching them between dolls to see what they would look like. I also liked that they had 14 points of articulation which meant that you could pose them in many different ways, I even got them to stand on their own for a little while- this is a huge difference and major upgrade from what Barbie offers.

My little girl and younger sister decided to play with these dolls while my older two were at school and they loved them too! Hopefully we won’t have any fighting over dolls the next time they are pulled out to be played with :) – we might just have to buy a few more to share.
