HEXBUG Micro Robotic Creatures {Review & Giveaway}

I have three little girls and my older two are pretty girly when it comes to  certain things, however that doesn’t stop them from playing outside and they definitely don’t mind getting dirty. In fact my three year old has an obsession with BUGS! Anything and EVERTHING bugs she loves! Just about everything she got for Christmas this year was bug themed. Of course having girls is my thing, I’m definitely not a want to go outside and get dirty kind of girl and when my daughter wants to touch all the bugs outside (especially the slugs) it grosses me out so I was extremely excited when HEXBUG offered to send me some of their products to try out!

They sent us one of their Habitat Sets ($29.99)  which included 2 rare HEXBUG Nano mutations, plus track pieces and a single HEXBUG Nano ($7.99), which meant one bug for each of my girls. The track set had three different hexagon pieces that you could connect by curved and straight pieces and my girls liked it because it meant that each bug had their own little house as they called it. I was also happy to see that they sent us plenty of batteries because those bugs have been running non stop at our house!

The only problem I have is making my three year old keep the bugs on the track. The first day they were playing with it I was standing on the tile floor in our kitchen and just about jumped out of my skin when I felt something crawling on my foot! They behave like real bugs and flip over by themselves. All bugs come with batteries and come in five collectible colors.

They also have Glow in the Dark HEXBUG Nanos ($9.99) which I’m sure my girls would LOVE and after looking through all of their products online I’m convinced that I need to purchase the Nano Specimen Case (holds up to 20 bugs for $17.99)  to keep better track of our bugs and that my girls will be getting some more track pieces, like the Nano Raceway Habitat Set ($49.99) for their birthday! It really is a toy that they can all play with together and keep them entertained for hours.

HEXBUG products can be purchased online or at specialty retailers nationwide and major retail stores including Target, Toys R Us and Radio Shack.
