SODASTREAM REVIEW

$$$ SAVINGS: I was super excited when offered the opportunity to review the SodaStream, in fact I’ve had to limit the number of times a week that we use it because my kids (who don’t normally drink soda) are going crazy over it! We aren’t huge soda drinkers in our house but I’ve definitely seen the price of soda at the grocery store and my in-laws are constantly spending money on it- their average budget just for soda in one week (which I’ll say surprised me) was $40, that’s $160 a month on soda alone! Using the SodaStream allows you to make soda right at home with ease, for a fraction of the cost. (Statistics on SodaStream’s website show that you can make this soda for just a25 cents per can or 25 cents per liter of sparkling water.)

The SodaStream package I received included a carbonator canister, two one liter bottles with screw-on cap, a variety of different flavors, machine and 3 bottles of flavoring for sparkling water.

EASY ASSEMBLY AND USE: The unit itself was super easy to put together and the whole process of making soda was quick and simple. Just pop the carbonator in, screw on the liter bottle, push the button on top to fizz until it buzzes (about 3 times), add flavoring to your liter, shake gently and enjoy!

FLAVORS AND TASTE: My favorite soda is Root Beer however I will say that I was a little disappointed by the SodaStream Root Beer flavoring it definitely wasn’t as sweet and sugary tasting but they don’t contain any high-fructose corn syrup and are meant to be more natural so it was to be a little expected. The Root Beer flavoring was my first attempt at the SodaStream so I’ll admit that my expectations for the other flavors weren’t as high after that, although the Lemon Lime flavor tasted just like Sprite, the Cranberry Raspberry flavor was yummy and the Diet Pink Grapefruit flavor was my absolute favorite, seriously I wouldn’t have even known it was diet unless I had seen the label. (Diet flavors don’t contain any aspartame but are sweetened with Splenda.)
