Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month? Well I sure didn’t. What better way to celebrate then by getting healthy with Nutrisystem! If you’re not on Nutrisystem well go and sign up already! Okay so let’s say you can’t do that for some reason, your pregnant, breastfeeding or just looking to help your family eat healthier, because obviously you can’t put your kids on Nutrisystem officially, however you can still get great healthy food ideas and recipes from Nutrisystem’s site.
Singing up to access their online website is simple and free, where you can then access tons of great recipes. I know I have tried to align my families food with my Nutrisystem entries so that we are eating similar meals each day. Sometimes that’s a hard thing to do when you have picky little kids for eaters but I’ve at least tried to be more aware of the fact that I am eating lots of veggies and fruits so they should be too. Luckily my little ones 7, 5 and 2 LOVE veggies so it hasn’t been a struggle to increase it in their diet and they seem to at least right now have an interest in my foods so anything that’s eating more like mom is great to them. If only I could get my hubby a little more on board with things. He completely supports what I want to and is definitely encouraging my weight loss by his great compliments, however he’s the most horrible eater I know. Pop tarts and Gatorade for breakfast and he has to have at least one bag of Double Stuffed Oreos on hand in the pantry at all times. Don’t get me started on how much money he spent on Girl Scout cookies this year- luckily he keeps those at his office so he can have them all to himself.
Have you seen the Nutrisystem Blog? If not you should definitely check it out. They’ve posted a few great ideas to help you get started to celebrate National Nutrition Month there. There’s also a great article called Taking Taste to the Next Level about all the new Nutrisystem foods this year and the great chefs making them. I didn’t know that we had Top Chef Masters (from the popular Bravo TV show) or Iron Chef winners on our team! I’m loving the new Buttered Popcorn dessert/snack and can’t wait to try the newest additions, Southern-Style Biscuits and Gravy and Maple Flavored Breakfast Patty!

I had a little bit of an off week so I’m excited to see that my exercise and what I have done has paid off! I’m grateful for the support groups I have online and the awesome Challenge Forum that has kicked my butt! Having to report to someone or multiple people for that matter gives me an increased desire to not screw up. I’m headed off to Florida for a little relaxation in the next few weeks and while I’m going to take what I can of my Nutrisystem foods with me I know I won’t be able to stay on program completely so my goal is to work my butt off until then. I’m already happy to say that I’m down 8lbs and technically I lost a little bit of weight a few weeks before I started Nutrisystem just getting prepped to eat better and not snacking as much and drinking more water- so I’m down more then 10lbs from what I was at the beginning of the year! Only 19.4lbs to go to my goal weight of 125lbs. I know it seems like quite a bit but considering the amount I’ve lost in 5 weeks I know I can do it!
