I always struggle when searching for new toys for my kids. My older two are so big into technology and of course the toys that require batteries, with lights and sounds are more appealing to young children but I’d love to get back to the original toys I remember growing up with. I believe Maukilo to be a company that supports this learning technique, the back to basics approach without lacking in quality or excitement.

  

We received the Building Blocks Number Dice and my three year old LOVES them! They are both colorful and fun. The fun bright colors drew in her eye and she’s spent the last hour playing with them. Each side of the block has something different on it, which has kept her engaged. I love that this toy doesn’t come with a whole bunch of tiny little pieces- perfect for the under 3 group. When we first pulled the blocks out of the box I lined them all up and counted the numbers with her- she struggled a little bit after the number 6 but I think these will encourage her to continue to progress. Then we looked at all the pictures on the other sides, a cow, butterflies, stars, snails and more- every picture I named she would respond with, “I love snails. I love stars. I love butterflies.” I just love the toddler age. Now she has branched out into individual play and is building towers with the ten wooden toy blocks. I would suggest as the box does this toy for the age 2-6 years group.
