But it will take all of her courage and determination to make her dreams come true- and save her father’s beloved kingdom from the sneaky sea witch Ursula (voiced by Pat Carroll).
REVIEW:
The Little Mermaid is a beloved classic from my childhood so I was very excited to hear they would be bringing it to DVD and Blu-ray so I could share it with my children. I was generously provided a copy of the Diamond Edition in exchange for this posting and my kids were ecstatic when they came home from school and saw it sitting on the counter (of course it took everything I had not to watch it before they got home from school but I knew it would be a great family activity everyone could enjoy). It of course trumped homework for a couple of hours and we all sat down and enjoyed the energy that is Ariel, Flounder and Sebastian in this upbeat colorful movie. My little one loved the songs and I found all of my kids dancing to “Under the Sea” which of course brought back lots of memories from my childhood. I love the new look of the movie- it definitely looks much better on Blu-ray then it ever did on VHS. The colors are bright and the character just pop! Part of me is wishing we had a 3D television because that would be awesome to see (yes it’s also available on 3D).
Surprise your kids today by grabbing a copy of this movie at your local retailer for a fun family movie night! You can also print the fun activities below which include some instructions to make your own Calypso instruments so you can rock out with Sebastian, coloring pages for the kids and test your trivia knowledge with a quiz!
GIVEAWAY: Ooh and my favorite part I get to offer one of my lucky readers the chance to win their own copy of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” Diamond Edition!
