Schleich Airplane & Wild Animals {Review & Giveaway}

 

If you enjoyed my review on Schleich’s Giganotosaurus here’s another great one for you! I love Schleich toys because I know I don’t feature too many toys for boys on my blog because I just have girls however, my girls have LOVED Schleich toys and while they look like they might just be for boys they certainly aren’t! My five year old has been begging me to let her open the Schleich airplane we received for review. Finally while everyone was visiting for Christmas I let her pull it out. The airplane is a little different from Schleich’s other toys. It’s not small like most of their animals and it does require a little bit of work to put it together. However it really didn’t take too long, my brother-in-law pulled it out of the box and put it together with her and after a few minutes they were playing! (It’s definitely not like a model airplane where there are lots of little pieces and parts- setup is very quick and simple.)

I love that it doesn’t have any batteries or buttons. While it might be fun to have something battery powered and operated, at least for an older kid this is a wonderful toy for younger ones to be exercise their creativity and imagination, which is exactly my five year olds forte. If you remember her video from my last post about Schleich toys- if not you can find it here- it’s a good one. Schleich also sent us a Indian Elephant that she was able to play with together with the plane, but she decided to also pull out her pet shop toys because they were small enough to fit one inside the airplane along with the pilot already inside. Definitely a great toy to keep kids busy, entertained and building their imagination!

 Schleich Airplane (SRP: $54.99):

Providing imaginative play for a child’s pretend travels, this airplane will travel around the world with their Schleich figurines. The Airplane comes with a pilot and has cockpit doors, fright bay, engine compartment and more. It portrays the type of traditional fixed wing prop-plane commonly seen in the widest regions of Africa, the Australian Outback and the plains of Argentina. Schleich is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and at participating retailers, people can purchase their new Airplane in specially marked anniversary packaging (marked with the 75^th Anniversary symbol) and inside there is a voucher to redeem for a free collectible zebra-striped animal (a zebra striped pig, kangaroo, giraffe or penguin).

 Indian Elephant Calf (SRP: $6.99):

A long trunk, tough tusks and big ears are bold features of this lowly leaf-eater. Indian elephants look similar to African elephants but have shorter tusks and smaller ears. Indian elephants live in family groups that are composed of between two and ten elephants. This elephant family would provide a great introductory for the detail in Schleich figurines.

 

A collector’s booklet containing all Schleich products (like  mini “wish book”) can be requested by emailing collector@schleich-s.com and providing your name and mailing address.
