Summer Activities With Kids {What’s On Your Bucket List?}

I feel like our summer has already been crazy and it’s only the second week of July, we still have another 7 full weeks of our summer until school starts back up. While we probably won’t get around to doing all the things on our list I thought it would be fun to make one and now to check back in and see what we’ve completed. This is great for those times when the kids are whining about being bored- my kids actually haven’t done that yet so I’m lucky.

Summer Bucket List:

  • Go to the Beach
  • Have a backyard campout – check!
  • Build a fort
  • Fly a kite
  • Go to a drive-in movie
  • Write a story
  • Have a picnic- check!
  • Have a pajama day – check!
  • Make a magazine collage
  • Make homemade lemonade – was just thinking about this one yesterday
  • Play a board game – check!
  • Collect seashells- guess we better head to the beach (at least we have some close)
  • Melt crayons
  • Have lunch at work with dad
  • Go on a hike
  • Play miniature golf- kids did this one in Idaho with their cousins and grandma- check!
  • Do a big puzzle
  • Slip-n-slide in the backyard- how about water + soap on the trampoline- kids did that yesterday
  • Watch fireworks- check!
  • Go fishing- the kids are begging for this maybe grandpa will have to take them
  • Write a poem – the kids were doing some silly ones the other day- check!
  • Spend a day at the museum
  • Bead bracelets
  • Build sandcastles- again better head to the beach
  • Make a movie
  • Go on a scavenger hunt

  • Work on learning to ride a bike with my 4 year old Hannah
  • Visit relatives- check!
  • Pick fresh fruits and/or veggies- time to see about going up to pick raspberries and make jam
  • Try new recipes
  • Read an entire book series- let’s hit the library kids!
  • Play card games
  • Go to the library
  • Participate in the Summer Reading Program at the Library- hmmm my kids have been reading but I need to go sign them up for this

So what’s on your bucket list? Hope this inspires you to make one or check on your current one and add some fun new activities. Do you have an activity on yours that’s not on mine, I’d love for you to share!
