About The TV Series:

“Sofia the First" is set in the storybook world of Enchancia and tells the story of Princess Sofia, an adventurous little girl who is learning how to adjust to royal life after her mom marries the king and she becomes a princess overnight.  Sofia quickly discovers that looking like a princess isn't all that difficult, but possessing the characteristics of a true princess –  honesty, loyalty, courage, independence, compassion and grace – is what makes one truly royal.   For more details on the show, please visit www.disney.go.com/disneyjunior/sofia-the-first

Review:

One my favorite things about Sofia the First is that while we love the frilly Princess dresses, balls, tiaras and richness of the luxurious life Sofia is a “Princess in Training” and Disney has made a point to showcase that being a princess is more than just being pretty. She’s taught important traits such as hard work, leadership, compassion and humility from three of my favorite Disney characters at the Royal Preparatory Academy – Flora, Fauna and Meriweather (the 3 Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty). There are also many visits from other Disney characters including Princess Jasmine and Aladdin in one of the episodes on this DVD. This DVD included a dress up doll kit that my five year old loved. The doll is made out of a sturdy paper and her dresses are the same material you see those window stickers made from, which means I have on more than one occasion found Sofia’s dresses now stuck to my windows :). While my husband wasn’t too interested in this movie my girls and I have all enjoyed watching it together.
