Ruth’s Brownie Kitchen {Review & Giveaway}

 

If you’re anything like me and just about any other woman who’s ever lived you LOVE chocolate (I really am sorry for those who are allergic because I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t have my chocolate). One of the best ways in my opinion to eat chocolate is brownies! I love brownies mostly because they are full of chocolate and quick and easy to make. Well what’s even better then quick and easy to make chocolate? Chocolate brownies that are already made for you and taste even better then the box of brownie mix sitting on your pantry shelf! When Ruth’s Brownie Kitchen offered to send me some of their products to try I was so excited! With the holidays here I’ve been on a baking spree to send goodies to work with my husband but that hasn’t left much for me at home, so I was thrilled to have something just for me (that I had to hide from everyone in the house) to enjoy.

My Thoughts:

Ruth’s Brownie Kitchen sent me 1/2 Dozen of their Chocolate Chunk Extra Fudgy Brownies. Fudge brownies are my favorite and considering how much of a chocoholic I am there was no question that I would get the brownies that had the most chocolate in them! These brownies have an extra handful of Valrhona chocolate in them giving the extra fudgy brownie an even greater chocolate taste! I wasn’t sure what to expect at first knowing I was only getting six brownies, that just didn’t seem like that many, however their brownies were HUGE. It was definitely plenty, I actually had a hard time eating a completely full brownie in one sitting especially with the kind that I got because they are so incredibly rich and chocolaty. The brownies were good cold but I really like my brownies warm so I popped it in the microwave for 10 seconds and then checked them and added another five to ten seconds. (The website suggests 20-25 seconds for these brownies.) My only problem with heating them for so long was that the chocolate chunk pieces inside started to melt, which would be wonderful with a scoop of vanilla ice cream but was a little hard to pick up without making a mess. My two year old daughter wanted to try a piece so I gave her a little bit and her face was covered in chocolate when she was finished, of course she wanted more and went away crying when I wouldn’t let her eat all of my brownies.

Not only does Ruth’s Brownie Kitchen sell gourmet brownies made to order but they also offer cookies and biscotti. Everything is made to order and not baked until you order it. So I was highly surprised when only a few short days after letting them know what I wanted it arrived at my doorstop in the mail, coming all the way from New York to Seattle that was some fast shipping! (Their site actually quotes 2-3 day delivery with the option to upgrade to overnight delivery.)
